Das Wochenende habe ich genutzt das Limesinformationszentrum Hof Grass bei Hungen zu besuchen. Ich hatte es k\u00fcrzlich wegen der eigent\u00fcmlichen r\u00f6mischen Wasserleitung erw\u00e4hnt, dazu aber sp\u00e4ter mehr.<\/p>\n

Das Limesinformationszentrum Hof Grass entstand in der Folge der Ernennung des Obergermanischen Raetischen Limes als UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Hauptinformationszentrum ist das Kastell Saalburg bei Bad Homburg, welches durch regionale Informationszentren auf Kreisebene erg\u00e4nzt wird. Dazu z\u00e4hlt auch das Limesinformationszentrum Hof Grass des Kreises Gie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

Alleine die Hofanlage ist recht ansehnlich und bemerkenswert und liegt leicht erh\u00f6ht in er Auenlandschaft der Horloff, etwas abseits der Hauptstra\u00dfe von Nidda nach Hungen. Da liegt schon ein kleines Problem. Die Beschilderung ist noch durchaus ausbauf\u00e4hig, denn kommt man aus Richtung Nidda, so wie ich es tat, kommt man ein einer kleinen Alleeneinfahrt vorbei die direkt auf den Parkplatz zuf\u00fchrt, jedoch keine Beschilderung aufweist. Weiter in Richtung Hungen gibts dann eine weitere Einfahrt, wohl die Offizielle, die leider nur das Schild „Hof Grass“ aufweist. Ein expliziter Hinweis auf das Informationszentrum w\u00e4re sch\u00f6n. Das Nichtvorhandensein ist aber vielleicht zur Zeit auch noch den Stra\u00dfenbauarbeiten geschuldet.<\/p>\n

\"Informationszentrum\"<\/a>Das eigentliche Informationszentrum ist fast ein bisschen versteckt. aber gut zu finden denn es liegt gleich hinter dem Eingang in die Hofanlage<\/p>\n

Die etwas ungew\u00f6hnlichen \u00d6ffnungszeiten sind der Betreuung durch Eherenamtilche geschuldet. So hat das Informationszentrum unter der Woche von 10:00 bis 12:00 Uhr ge\u00f6ffnet, Samstags von 14:00 bis 16:00Uhr, Sonntags von 10:00 bis 16:00Uhr.<\/p>\n

Unter Umst\u00e4nden muss man klingeln um eingelassen zu werden, was aber kein Problem darstellt. Problematischer sollte daf\u00fcr der Zugang f\u00fcr Rollstuhlfahrer sein.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Die Ausstellung als solches ist eher klein und findet ihren Platz \u00a0ihren Platz im Hauptraum der durch ein offenes Fachwerk geteilt wird. Bis auf eine Ausnahme waren die Texte gut angebracht und durchweg gut lesbar. Zu den gro\u00dfen Texten finden sich ebenfalls Informationen in Braille und englische und franz\u00f6sische \u00dcbersetzungen sind in ausziehbaren F\u00e4chern vorhanden.<\/p>\n

\"Ausstellung\"<\/a>Sch\u00f6n ist auch das es viel anzufassen gibt. Wobei ich nat\u00fcrlich maulen k\u00f6nnte das die Tuniken unter den (vernieteten!) Kettenhemden maschienengen\u00e4ht sind, was ich aber in diesem Fall nicht ganz so schlimm finde.<\/p>\n

Erg\u00e4nzend zu Ausstellung gibt es noch einen Rundweg von \u00fcber 3km L\u00e4nge und einen Spielplatz.<\/p>\n

Wer jetzt explizit nur wegen der Ausstellung nach Hungen fahren sollte, wird entt\u00e4uscht sein. Es lohnt sich eher f\u00fcr diejenigen die in der Region wohnen oder sowieso hier vorbei fahren. Dabei lohnt es sich auch einen Spaziergang \u00fcber den Rundweg zu machen wobei darauf hingewiesen sei, das die Wege zum Teil unbefestigt sind und sehr schlammig sein k\u00f6nnen (wie an diesem Wochenende!)<\/p>\n

(\u2026)Die fertige Bleileitung wurde in ein feuchtes M\u00f6rtelbett mit Ziegelschlag auf eine rechteckige, ebenfalls noch feuchte Tonplatte gelegt und wie eine \u201cBiskuitrolle\u201d eingerollt. Anschlie\u00dfend wurde die \u201cRolle\u201d in einem T\u00f6pferofen bei hohen Temperaturen gebrannt. (\u2026)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Rolle\"<\/a>F\u00fcr mich macht es eher den Eindruck als sei die Tonrolle separat um eine Form gewickelt und gebrannt worden. Im Anschluss wurde das Bleirohr hineingeschoben und der Hohlraum mit dem „M\u00f6rtel gef\u00fcllt worden, der dann Lufttrocknete.
