Kataphrakte gab es bereits unter den &#8222;klassischen&#8220; R\u00f6mern, Byzanz war einer der Endpunkte der Seidenstra\u00dfe und war somit viel fr\u00fcher am Puls der Zeit des Ostens (also nicht nur Wehrtechnisch) usw.<\/p>\n<p>Da ich jetzt aber nicht das Ostfr\u00e4nkische Reich verlassen m\u00f6chte, f\u00fchl mich hier eigentlich ganz wohl und da unten ist mir zu warm, probier ichs doch einfach mal mit ein bisschen englischsprachiger Grundlagen Literatur, die da w\u00e4re &#8222;Byzantium &#8211; An Introduction To East Roman Civilisation&#8220;.
